Do I NEED stuff to make me happy? And if not, what lifestyle do I want to live that creates happiness?
People, Not Stuff is a blog dedicated to living a lifestyle based on simplicity. Choose the essential, eliminate the rest.
What’s essential to me? Family, Close Friends, Fitness, Sports, Education.
I’m a 23, 24, 25 year-old living in the Greater Philadelphia area. The Great Recession provided a wake-up call to me. I don’t want to live my life working furiously, solely to buy things I don’t need, in an attempt be happy.
The truth is, I don’t believe we as humans need all the junk we’ve been told we’re supposed to have. In fact, I’m figuring out that continually accumulating stuff is a significant factor in creating the thing most people are trying to avoid — unhappiness.
People, Not Stuff focuses on all things related to Generation Y Minimalism. This includes my transition to towards a simple, streamlined lifestyle. Thank you for stopping by!

Hi.
I ran across your blog on my quest to find as much information as possible on living a minimalist lifestyle. From what I gather, I am much like you in my journey to consume as much information as possible before deciding to take this plunge. I am also 24 and realizing that happiness does not revolve around material possessions. Throughout the last 6 years, I’ve taken small steps at de-cluttering my life, but I am at the point where I am ready to take the big plunge and make a true commitment.
Anyhow, I’ve really enjoyed your blog. I feel like I can relate to you (24, African American, College Educated) and I would love if you could shoot me an email and we could chat. Thanks for taking the time to share with us.
